Don't hinder ambulance
I saw it again the other day. An ambulance had its lights flashing and its siren blaring as it was trying to make a left turn off Monroe Street onto East Jefferson Street to get to Butler Memorial Hospital. Not one car came to a complete stop.
In fact, the driver behind me honked, obviously aggravated that I did stop and wait for the ambulance to go by.
One car even challenged the ambulance, trying to get ahead of it. That put everyone in harm's way, particularly the ambulance.
I was taught that any emergency vehicle has the right of way. Isn't that the safest way for all?
