Stella May Bolte

Stella May Bolte, 100, of Butler died at 9:45 p.m. Friday at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, West Penn-Allegheny Hospital, Natrona Heights.

Born in Indiana, Pa., June 27, 1904, she was a daughter of William and Nancy Fergerson McCollough.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Bolte was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman and the Saxonburg Golden Agers group.

Surviving are six sons, Joseph W. Bolte of Savoy, Mass., George F. Bolte of Cabot, Daniel R. Bolte of Butler, Henry E. Bolte of North Adams, Mass., Vincent P. Bolte of Natural Dam, Ark., and Harold L. Bolte of Fort Smith, Ark.; and six daughters, Betty Rago, Cecelia Bronder, Mrs. Neal (Virginia) Smith, Mrs. George (Nancy) Kradel, Mrs. Bernard (Rita) Rozic and Mrs. Dennis (Leona) Shearer, all of Butler. Also surviving are 48 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren

Her husband, Joseph Bolte, whom she married Oct. 18, 1922, died April 9, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, an infant son, an infant daughter and a brother.

BOLTE - Friends of Stella M. Bolte, who died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Herman. The Rev. John McCloskey, O.F.M. Cap., will officiate. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.A parish vigil service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
