Conrad, McDermid
Melanie Conrad of Butler and Matthew McDermid of Cherryville, N.C., were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. June 23 at Community Alliance Church in Center Township. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Krajacic officiated. A reception followed in Coleman Hall at the Tanglewood Center in Lyndora.
The bride is the daughter of John and Sue Conrad of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Chuck and Connie McDermid of Cherryville.
The maid of honor was the bride's sister, Danielle Conrad, of Butler. Bridesmaids included the groom's sister, Michelle McDermid, of Cherryville; Kelly Matonak, Jessica Sheakley and Jennifer McFarland, all of Butler; and Abigail Bess of St. Albans, W.Va.
Serving the bridegroom as best man was David Patten of Winston-Salem, N.C. Ushers included the bridegroom's brother, Jeffrey McDermid, of Cherryville; Jonathan Deaton and Josiah Johnson, both of Winston-Salem; Tony Angerett of Prospect; and Joshua Matonak of Butler.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Butler High School and a 2007 graduate of Liberty University.
The bridegroom graduated in 2002 from Cherryville High School and in 2005 from Liberty University. He works for Marmon/Keystone in Charlotte, N.C.
Following a honeymoon cruise in the Western Caribbean, the couple is making their home in Charlotte.
