Mary E. Coughenour

Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Coughenour, 80, of 141 Road End Lane, Center Township, died at 8:06 a.m. Thursday at her home.

Born in Morgantown, W.Va., March 6, 1928, she was a daughter of William and Lorena Newman Hormell.

Mrs. Coughenour, a graduate of Uniontown High School, was a mother and homemaker and a former Girl Scout leader.

She was a Presbyterian. She was a member of the Elks Lodge 2751 of Crossville, Tenn., enjoyed Bible study and bowling, and was a Steelers fan.

Surviving are two sons, David Coughenour of Round Rock, Texas, and Eric Coughenour of Butler; a sister, Patricia Brown of Ocala, Fla.; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.

Her husband, Thomad R. Coughenour, died Feb. 11, 2004. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Coughenour, and a sister, Rena Bell.

<B>COUGHENOUR </B>— Friends of Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Coughenour, who died Thursday, May 1, 2008, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. May 9 at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., where a memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev.
