Gerald G. Frost
Gerald G. "Jerry" Frost, 81, of Citrus Hills, Fla., and a longtime Worthington, Ohio, resident, died at his home May 2. He also was a former resident of the Butler area.
Mr. Frost was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Detroit Mich., to Almos Grant Frost and Gertrude Williams Frost.
Jerry served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Bowling Green State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. He obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter designation and retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. in 1986 as vice president of Life, Health and Equity Marketing after 35 years.
He was an active member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church and the Long Hitters golf group, as well as many charitable events and causes. Most recently, Jerry was active with the Katrina relief efforts in Pass Christian, Miss.
In Florida, Jerry was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness and the Inverness Elks Lodge 2522. Some of his life enjoyments were traveling, storytelling, and dining out. He was considered a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one.
He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 48 years Marilyn J. Frost, who died Feb. 2, 1999, and an infant son, Steven.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Jon) Hanlon and Jill (George) Schulz; three sons, Ric (Maicie) Frost, Tom (Carol) Frost and Scott (Amy) Frost; seven grandchildren, Jason (Megan), Jennifer and Joe (Angela) Savage, Steven, Maggie, Ashley and Alex Frost; and three great-grandchildren, Grant and Keegan Timmons and Brian Savage.
<B>FROST</B> — Friends of Gerald G. "Jerry" Frost, who died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL</B>, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High St., Worthington, Ohio, with the Rev. Phil Hazelton, senior pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Mt Carmel Joint Cemetery, West Liberty, Ohio, with the Rev.
