Oakland, Winfield tax collector race results

The unofficial results as reported in the Butler County Bureau of Elections summary report for contested tax collector races in Butler County townships and boroughs following the Tuesday, May 20, primary election are detailed below:
The Oakland Township tax collector position was contested in Tuesday’s primary, with three Republican candidates vying for the party’s nomination for the position in November’s general election. The winner in November will replace Sherry Filges, who is retiring at the end of 2025.
Mary Ellen Sanko won the race with 156 votes, defeating both Sarah Filges, who collected 132 votes, and Kathleen Bauer, with 37 votes. No Democratic candidates applied, meaning that Sanko will most likely be unopposed in the general election in November.
The Winfield Township tax collector position was contested in Tuesday’s primary, with two Republican candidates vying for the party’s nomination for the position in November’s general election. The winner in November will replace former tax collector Donna Nagle, who resigned earlier this year.
Maisie Miller won the race with 350 votes and will move to the November election. Marla Klabnick was eliminated with 202 votes. No candidates ran on the Democratic side.
