Sallie C. Propst

Propst

Sallie C. Propst, 67, of 673 Jordan Hill Road, Kennerdell, died peacefully at 9:45 p.m. Sunday at her home following an extended illness and surrounded by her loving family.

Born Nov. 19, 1942, in Grove City, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank A. and Verla G. Gill of Slippery Rock.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1960 and went on to receive her associate degree as a medical secretary in 1963 from Point Park College, Pittsburgh.

Residing at her present home since 1963, Sallie had worked more than 25 years for the Visiting Nurses Association of Franklin in the accounts receivable department.

She was active with the Kennerdell Church of God, where she served on the church council board, taught Bible school classes for a number of years and was on the audit committee. She also enjoyed being the church organist for a number of years.

Sallie had been a notary for the Rockland Township area for a number of years.

Among many of Sallie's pleasures in life were her family and her many friends. Sallie enjoyed working with flowers in her garden, along with bird watching, photography and being with her beloved chocolate Lab, Chloe.

Sallie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John W. "Bill" Propst; two children: daughter, Teri L. Propst, and son, Todd A. Propst and his wife, Holly N. Propst, are both residing in Erie. Sallie has three wonderful grandchildren, Gina M. Groszkiewicz of Erie, Cody R. Propst of Seneca, Pa., and Abigayle A. Propst, also of Erie.

<B>PROPST</B> — The family of Sallie C. Propst, who died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kennerdell Church of God in Kennerdell with Pastor Bobbie Nelson officiating. Visitation also will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County Foundation, Hospice Program, 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin, PA 16323.Friends can also e-mail condolences by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net.
