Mars Area Middle School eighth-graders Reagan Connelly and William Wilson were selected to receive the American Legion Award.

The award is presented to eighth-graders who exhibit the highest standards of scholarship, leadership, patriotism, service, courage, honor and integrity.

Each school year, teachers nominate students for the recognition. All eighth-graders are asked to vote for one boy and one girl from the list of nominees.

Other nominees included eighth-graders Camille Bird, Roman Brunsell, McKenna Chileski, Reese Felicetti, Ryan Galbraith, Carson Mahan, Addison Nailler, Derek Piatek, Susanna Tomkovicz and Maxwell Zagorski.
