WPIAL lacrosse brackets 2025: Butler girls, Mars boys and girls matchups, sites, times, tickets
The WPIAL released the boys and girls lacrosse tournament brackets Thursday, with three Butler County teams making the dance.
Butler’s girls program (8-6) opens Class 3A tournament play 6 p.m. Tuesday as the No. 10 seed and faces a road matchup at No. 7 Penn-Trafford. It’s a rematch of the Golden Tornado’s season opener, a 13-7 road loss at Warrior Stadium in March.
The winner of that game takes on No. 2 Upper St. Clair in a May 15 quarterfinal.
Perennial powerhouses Mars boys and girls earned the No. 2 and No. 1 seeds, respectively, in Class 2A. The Planets boys (15-2) will face the winner of No. 10 Quaker Valley at No. 7 Bethel Park in a quarterfinal May 15. The Planets girls (15-1) will face the winner of No. 9 Franklin Regional vs. No. 8 Oakland Catholic in a quarterfinal May 14.
The girls have won consecutive WPIAL titles and three in the last four years; they beat Chartiers Valley 14-6 in last year’s final. The boys are the eight-time defending WPIAL champs and beat South Fayette 16-5 last year.
Tickets for all games through the semifinals can be purchased online at gofan.co/WPIAL for $7 for adults, $5 for students. Tickets purchased at the gate are $7. Tickets for the championship games, which will be hosted at Upper St. Clair High School, cost $10.
