Loyal L. Tait

Loyal L. Tait, 92, a lifelong resident of Butler, slipped into the presence of his Lord and Savior at 5:20 a.m. Thursday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 13, 1917, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry A. Tait and Hazel E. Wright Tait.

Loyal and Eleanor loved to travel and visit friends near and far. Loyal was an avid photographer and always was known to have a camera in his hand. At the age of 76, Loyal won an award and had a photograph published.

Loyal was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and rarely missed a service. He had an insatiable interest in Christian Jewish ministries and was a generous donor to many organizations. Loyal attended a men's Bible study and was a faithful travelogue attendee.

Loyal retired as an electrician from Armco Butler Works after 33 years of service.

Loyal was a veteran of the Air Force, having served during World War II.

Loyal is survived by a sister-in-law, Zella Miller of Butler; a nephew, Lemoyne Miller of Butler; his church family; and his "adopted" children, Bonnie and David Maitland of Grove City.

Loyal was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor E. Huffman Tait, who passed away Nov. 30, 1991.

<B>TAIT</B> — Friends of Loyal L. Tait, who died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, will be received following church from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., </B>124 E. North St., Butler. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor David Maitland and Pastor Jeff Gwilt of First Baptist Church, officiating.
