Admission buttons are available for the third annual Ring in the Arts New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Butler.

The party, which will run from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., will offer a range of local and regional talent in performances lasting 30 to 45 minutes.

Performers will include Ray Ryan and the New Orleans Riverside Band, The Merrymakers, Elliot Roth on piano and vocals, Trinity Jazz Orchestra, and Blue Max Schang, Prince Puppets, a die cast derby, and magic with Tim Kutch and rock music with No Mind Frame, Spectral Presence and 8th Street Rox.

Events take place in downtown Butler, inside restaurants, businesses and Butler Arts Council facilities. A free shuttle bus will transport patrons between venues. The evening concludes with Zambelli fireworks at midnight.

Individual admission buttons cost $10; a party pack of four buttons is $30. A "Ring in the Arts!" button serves as an admission ticket to all events. The buttons are available at Friedman's and Bi-Lo Grocery Stores, The Embarq Store at Clearview Mall, Miller's Shoes, the Butler County Symphony Office, Snack-n-Pack (353 East Jefferson), and the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.

The Associated Artists of Butler County has expanded its call for artists for the Third Annual Age of Aquarius to include musicians.The celebration of 1960s and early 1970s art, music and fashion will be held from Jan. 26 to Feb. 23.Deadline for art entries is Jan. 12. EMLENTON — The annual train display set up by Boy Scout Troop 41 will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Jan. 28, except Jan. 15, when it will be closed.The display is at Donaldson Motors on River Avenue.For more information, call 724-867-2293.

PITTSBURGH — Kick back on a bench in the Tropical Forest at the National Aviary and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as hundreds of birds eat, bathe, fly and play all around.Participate in a feeding in the Wetlands of the Americas free-flight room, where flamingos, pelicans and ibis, among others. Meet with a penguin, wonder at the aviary's new Stellar's Sea Eagle, and say hello to Franklin, the spectacled owl chick who's sprouting his adult feathers.The National Aviary is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. New Year's Day. PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh's downtown Cultural District will celebrate First Night Pittsburgh 2007 on New Year's Eve with family friendly events presented by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.The arts presented will include dance, music, comedy, magic, visual art and film, plus hands-on activities for children and adults.The opening ceremony will be at 6 p.m. with a Children's Fireworks Display at the Dollar Bank Main Stage, followed by a parade.For a complete list of events, visit the Web site, www.firstnightpgh.com or call 412-456-6666.For the first time, Pittsburgh will ring in the New Year with the raising of a ball, made from all post-consumer materials, named "The Future of Pittsburgh." A team of architects and engineers from Burt Hill developed the concept and design.First Night Buttons cost $8; children age 5 and younger are admitted for free.
