City man is charged with kidnapping
CLEARFIELDTWP — A city man stands accused of kidnapping a couple whom he allegedly blamed for a monetary loss.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Brannon Jamar Irvin of West Diamond Street was angry that he had to pay more for drugs in Butler than he would have paid had he gotten a ride into Pittsburgh.
Irvin, according to court documents, blamed Jeffrey Nadiak for failing to drive him to Pittsburgh, and wanted Nadiak to repay him the $150 difference.
Nadiak, when approached by Irvin at the home of a mutual acquaintance on Saturday, didn't have $150, according to court documents.
So Irvin allegedly spent the evening with Nadiak and his girlfriend Kelly Bandura —- threatening to harm Nadiak if he didn't come up with the money the next day.
According to court documents, Irvin reportedly demanded Nadiak provide him and his girlfriend, called only "Natasha" in court records, a place to spend the night.
Irvin reportedly watched Nadiak and Bandura as they slept in Bandura's Moran Road apartment so that they could not leave.
The next morning, Nadiak and Bandura made a couple of telephone calls in an unsuccessful attempt to get money for Irvin.
They then drove — under Irvin's supervision — to the home of Bandura's father to ask him for money, according to court documents.
Bandura's father turned down the couple's request for cash. But Bandura stayed at her father's house when Irvin, Nadiak and Natasha drove back to Butler.
After the group left, Bandura told her father what was going on and he called state police, according to court records.
State police located and stopped the car and arrested Irvin.
Irvin is charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count each of terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, harassment and false imprisonment.
Irvin was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Clifford Woessner Sunday.
Irvin now is in the Butler County Prison, unable to post $50,000 bond.
