SARVER - The Westminster Presbyterian Church's annual Fall Family Fest is set for Saturday at the church on Westminster Road.The event will begin with a pancake and sausage breakfast and will include a watermelon-spitting contest, pie-eating contest, face painting, a penny toss and other games .A bake sale, gift basket auction, white elephant sale and other events are also planned. A ham or barbecue chicken dinner will also be offered.Suggested donations for the breakfast are $5 for adults and $3 for children. The St. Vincent dePaul Society will host a thank-you weekend Friday and Saturday at its thrift store at the Greater Butler Mart on Route 8.Friday's events will include a remote broadcast of WISR's "It's Your Turn" talk show from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.Saturday's events will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include prize drawings, entertainment, food and guest appearances.No thrift store proceeds will be used to fund the weekend.

Senior centers at Butler, Bruin, Chicora, Cranberry, Evans City, Mars, Slippery Rock, West Sunbury Zelienople, Mount Chestnut and the Southeast Center will serve these menus for the next week beginning tomorrow.Menus are subject to changes.
