David Paul Bartmas

David Paul Bartmas, 78, of Butler died at 3:15 a.m. Friday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born Aug. 21, 1928, the son of John D. and Helen A. Robinson Bartmas.

Mr. Bartmas served five years in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War.

He retired as a truck driver from American Agip on April 15, 1999.

He attended the Freeport Road Christian Missionary Alliance Church, and sang gospel music in area churches.

Mr. Bartmas is survived by his wife, Mable M. Shull Bartmas, whom he married Oct. 1, 1954; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Cynthia)Carter of Apollo, and Valli J. Logan and Joy D. Hays, both of Butler; five grandchildren, Emily Gureckis of New Jersey, Christy L. Carter of Apollo, and Richard Logan III, Raymond "Ryan" Hays Jr., and Trevor Hays, all of Butler; four brothers, the Rev. Richard E. Bartmas, and his wife, Harriet, of Cabot, the Rev. O. Gene Bartmas of Anderson, Ind., Dale Bartmas and his wife, Evelyn, of San Diego, Calif., and Glenn O. Bartmas of Unionville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hope and Howard Bartmas; one sister, Enid Yvonne Bartmas; and one granddaughter, Angel Hays.

<B>BARTMAS</B> — Friends of David Paul Bartmas, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>MARTIN FUNERAL HOME</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Freeport Road Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Timothy Dietrich officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery.Information is available at www.martinfh.net
