Chicora woman, 23, dies from accident injuries

A 23-year-old Chicora woman who was ejected from the car she was driving Tuesday during an accident in Center Township died Wednesday of complications from blunt force trauma to the head.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office also ruled that the death of Sierra R. Cranmer was an accident.

She was taken to the Butler Memorial Hospital helipad after the accident on Route 38, and then flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was pronounced dead there at 12:20 a.m.

State police said she was traveling south when her car crossed the center line, traveled up an embankment and sheared off a utility pole.

Neither Cranmer nor her passenger, Shane A. Everetts, 26, of North Washington was wearing a seat belt, police said. Everetts was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after firefighters extricated him from the car. His condition is not known.
