STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — The owner of the Costumes Etc. store in Middlesex Township has died.

Jean Benton, 69, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and formerly of Valencia, died Monday at her home.

Benton decided in July to close the store at 1095 Pittsburgh Road. A going-out-of-business sale began shortly after and still continues.

The death of her husband, Larry Benton, in 2012 and the fact she had mainly been living in Colorado led to her decision to close the store, she told the Butler Eagle last month.

Her funeral will be Saturday in Colorado. Arrangements are being handled by the Yampa Valley Funeral Home in Colorado.
