Irene M. Stamm

Irene M. Stamm, 90, of Butler died Friday at her home.

The daughter of William David Miller and Edith Hutchinson Miller, she was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Center Township.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Butler, where she taught Sunday school for 16 years.

Mrs. Stamm was a member of the West Sunbury American Legion Post 243 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was also a Boy Scout leader for years.

She is survived by four daughters, Winona M. Bartmas of Butler, Norma Jean Hepler of Butler, Mrs. William (Janet) Glasgow of Pittsfield and Mrs. Norman (Barbara) Brown of Butler; 13 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Rosie Stamm of Butler, and a son-in-law Glenn Bartmas of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Stamm, who died Oct. 31, 1986. One son, two grandsons, three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

<B>STAMM</B> — Friends of Irene M. Stamm, who died Friday, April 4, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>WILLIAMF. YOUNGFUNERALHOME</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Friends also will be received at West Sunbury Presbyterian Church from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Funeral services will be with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Bell of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Rd., Butler PA, 16001.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
