James E. DeLozier
James Edward DeLozier, 86, of New Castle died Tuesday morning at the Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle.
He was born Nov. 16, 1921, in Coupon, Cambria County, to Warren and Matilda Holmberg DeLozier.
Mr. DeLozier retired after 42 years as an operations supervisor for AT&T.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Europe with the 5th Infantry, 71st Division. He was a member of the VFW Post 315.
He was an automobile enthusiast and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Mandichak Michaelangelo DeLozier, who he married May 7, 1983; a daughter, Deanna L. Buttray of Meadville; a son, Daniel E. DeLozier and his wife, Karen, of New Castle; two stepsons, Ronald Michaelangelo of Chicago, Ill., and Robert Michaelangelo of Cleveland, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Linda Quinn and her husband, Donald, of New Castle; two sisters, Gladys Waksmonski of Colfax, Del., and Jean Adams of Coupon; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Petyak DeLozier; a stepson, Dennis Michaelangelo; a brother, Paul DeLozier; and a sister, Catherine Ball.
<B>DELOZIER</B> — Friends of James Edward DeLozier, who died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home</B>, 926 Cunningham Ave., New Castle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Mary Church. The Rev. James Downs of Christ the King Parish will officiate.
