Diller

Wilbert G. Diller Sr., 89, of Brackenridge died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 16, 1919, in Natrona, he was the son of Anton and Ruth E. Walters Diller.

He lived in Brackenridge most of his life and had been a steelworker at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. in Brackenridge for 42Z\x years and retired in 1981.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Diller was a Protestant.

He wrote many stories and poems and wrote more than 300 letters and articles since his retirement, many of which were published by the Valley News.

Surviving are a son, Larry P. Diller at home; two daughters, Diane E. (Robert J.) Novolio of Butler and Susan L. (Scott E.) Brink of Freeport; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Ruth Simpson of Sarver, Margaret Wright of Tarentum and Mona Parobeck of Brackenridge; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Etta Maeder Diller, who died May 14, 2002; a son, Wilbert G. Diller Jr., who died March 16, 2001; a brother, Leonard Diller; and three sisters, Wilma J. Lang and her twin, Wanda J. Diller and Elaine Chelko.

Diller Sr., who died Saturday, April 26, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Duster Funeral Home</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Cameron Malcolm IV, of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, officiating.
