Barbara Jean Clever
Barbara Jean (McCollough) Clever, 60, of Altoona went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening after a courageous battle with breast cancer at Altoona Hospital.
Born Aug. 13, 1948, in Butler, she was preceded in death by her father, E. Frederick McCollough, and she is survived by her mother, Jeannette (Garing) McCollough of Chicora. She also is survived by her husband, Edward E. Clever, whom she married Dec. 20, 1969, in Chicora.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa (Clever) Donovan and her husband, Matt, and their children, Haley, Matthew and Noah; and Melanie (Clever) Gearhart and her husband, Brian, and their two children, Brianna and Bryan; two brothers, Wayne McCollough and his wife, Pamela, of Lock Haven and Doug McCollough and his wife, Linda, of Fenelton; four nephews; and two nieces.
Clever was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Holidaysburg. She was a 1966 graduate of Karns City High School.
Clever recently retired after more than 30 years as a customer service representative for Quaker City Motor Parts-Duncansville NAPA.
She also was a member of the Chimrock Squares and the Swinging Squares Square and Round Dance Club.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, doing crafts, reading, traveling with family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.
<B>CLEVER — </B>Visitation for<B> </B>Barbara Jean (McCollough) Clever, who died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>The Good Funeral Home </B>at the Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church of Holidaysburg with the Rev.
