HARRISVILLE The Harrisville Community Band will present its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. April 17 at the Harrisville Fire Hall, 313 E. Mercer St.

Selections will include "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," "Tarantella," "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Big Four March."

In its 44th year, the band is directed by Becky Sopher of Harrisville.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be available.

SLIPPERY ROCK Cynthia Berger, author of "Wild Guide: Dragonflies" will discuss the insects at 2 p.m. April 19 at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528 near the intersection of Routes 8 and 173.She will talk about the life cycle of the dragonfly and its hunting and mating behaviors and offer identification tips for the most common dragonflies in the area. She will also sign copies of her book.Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Call 724-794-6011.

SLIPPERY ROCK Henrik Ibsen's drama "Hedda Gabler," which premiered in 1891 and was a Broadway success in 1902, will complete Slippery Rock University theatre department's season when it is presented April 15 to 19.The audience will determine if the lead character is a despicable villain, a courageous heroine ¿¿ or both. The work is being directed by David Skeele, professor of theater.Curtain is at 8 p.m. April 15 through 18 and at 2 p.m. April 19.Tickets are $5 for students with an SRU ID, or $10 for general admission. PITTSBURGH Pittsburgh Public Theater presents an all-new production of Eugene O'Neill's classic, "A Moon for the Misbegotten," from April 16 to May 17 at the O'Reilly Theater, 621 Penn Ave.Set on a Connecticut farm, "A Moon for the Misbegotten" is a tale of revenge, passion and sorrow but eventually cleansing.Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays (except May 12 when the show is at 7 p.m.), and at 2 and 7 p.m. Sundays (except May 17 when the only show is at 2 p.m.), with additional 2 p.m. matinees on May 2, 9, 14 and 16.
