Willis G. Miller
Willis G. Miller, 82, of Alameda Road died at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at his home.
Born in Meridian, March 2, 1924, he was the son of Clyde O. and Edith Downing Miller.
He retired in 1983 as a construction supervisor for United Telephone.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.
He served with the Army in Europe during World War II in and was the recipient of three Bronze Stars.
He was active with the Meridian Little League and was drum manager of the Meridian Fife and Drum Corps. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and also liked to bowl and play golf.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy E. Sampsel Miller, whom he married Oct. 8, 1976; two sons, W. George Miller of Cape Coral, Fla., and Dennis Miller of Cranberry Township; a daughter, Dyanne Nicklas of Concord, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Douglas (Wanda J.) Sampson of Panama City, Fla., and Mrs. Ritchie (Barbara K.) Packard and Mrs. Michael (Diana L.) Walker, both of Butler; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Mrs. Clara Mae List, Mrs. Thelma Menchyk and Mrs. Mary Lou Stockard, all of Meridian; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

North St. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Curtis, his church pastor, officiating.
