CRANBERRY TWP — A Virginia man was arrested after allegedly smashing car windows while intoxicated.

Police said Phillip I. Glover, 25, was witnessed hitting vehicles on Creekview Circle and attempting to break into them in the early morning of Dec. 10.

While questioning Glover at the scene, police noticed blood dripping from his right hand. Glover said he received the cut after climbing over a small fence, according to police reports.

Glover also was holding a white dog at the time which he claimed was a service dog, the report states.

He was arrested for public drunkenness after alcohol was smelled on his breath.

“His speech was slurred and his comments were incoherent,” the report states.

While being detained and placed into a police vehicle, Glover’s body became rigid and he began to yell loudly, according to the report.

“He had to be physically pushed into the patrol vehicle,” the report states.

While police attempted to get Glover into the police vehicle, Glover allegedly tried to head butt one of the officers, but hit the officer’s chest.

The dog also was placed in the back of the police vehicle with Glover.

Police afterward found an Infiniti G37 with the rear window smashed.

“Witnesses stated that the defendant was near that vehicle and was repeatedly yelling that license plate number of that vehicle,” the report states. “Witnesses indicated that Glover must have broken the window during the initial disturbance they had reported to 911.”

Glover faces charges of felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and public drunkenness, among others.

He was unable to post bail, but was released last week on a $10,000 bond.

He will be formally arraigned in Butler County Court on Jan. 24.
