Quick start paves way for NA to beat Butler

WEXFORD - North Allegheny wasted little time knocking down shots - and knocking Butler out of its game.

The Tigers sank four 3-pointers before the game was five minutes old, built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 70-49 boys basketball win over the Golden Tornado Tuesday.

North Allegheny (13-4, 7-2) never trailed in winning for the ninth time in 10 games.

"They hit some shots that gave them a quick lead and one thing our style of play does not allow is falling behind by a lot of points fast," Butler coach Joe Lewandowski said. "It lets the other team dictate tempo and forces us to alter our personnel."
