William F. Huffman

Huffman

William F. Huffman, 85, of Ford City, formerly of Mars, died Sunday at the St. John Lutheran Care Center, Mars.

Born Sept. 13, 1921, in Mars, he was the son of Charles Wahl Huffman and Christina Mcpherson Drylie Huffman.

He was a member of the Appleby Manor United Presbyterian Church of Ford City, where he was an elder.

Mr. Huffman, who was a World War II veteran, served in the Army from 1942 to 1946.

He was employed by Mellon Bank for 39 years and was the manager of the Ford City office from 1965 until his retirement in 1985.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling with his wife. He could always be found working on projects around the house

He was a former member and past president of the Ford City Kiwanis Club and was a life member of the N.R.A.

Surviving are his wife, Clyda M. Allender Huffman, whom he married March 27, 1942; three sons, William F. Huffman Jr. and his wife, Juanita, of Los Molinos, Calif., Richard Huffman and his wife, Victoria, of Allison Park and Neil Huffman and his wife, Raylene, of Butler; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Huffman, and two sisters, Ruth Bower and Arda Mae Schmidt.

<B>HUFFMAN </B>— Friends of William F. Huffman, who died Sunday, May 27, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Welch Funeral Home</B>, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carletta Curley officiating. Burial will follow at the Mars Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Specialty Care Center, P.O.
