ZELIENOPLE - The Rev. Joseph Champlin, author and rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse, N.Y., will speak during the Lenten Renewal Mission at St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St.
Champlin will be featured at weekend Masses beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday. He will also speak at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Tuesday's sermon will be followed by the opportunity for Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Appointments for short private counseling are being accepted for Monday through Wednesday.
Two of Champlin's recent autographed books, "Slow Down: Five Minute Reflections to De-Stress Your Days" and "From Time to Eternity and Back," will be available for sale.

EMLENTON - The Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God church will host a "Counterfeit Christianity" conference on Sunday. The conference will be officiated by Bob Anderson, Pennsylvania director of Watchman Fellowship Inc., a ministry that seeks to educate the community, equip the church and evangelize cults.Presentations will include "Counterfeit Christianity" at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.; "Jehovah's Witnesses and the Dating Game" at 9:45 a.m.; and "Islam Revealed: Religious Terrorism" at 6:30 p.m.There is no cost to attend. BAKERSTOWN - Members of the community are invited to programs and dinners on Wednesdays during Lent at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 and Heckert Road. The events will include classes for adults and children of all ages.Although classes are free, dinners preceding the classes cost $2 per person or $5 per family. KITTANNING - St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church on West High Street is offering the most blessed sacrament at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays. The sacrament remains on the altar until 7 p.m., when a benediction closing service is held.A special children's holy hour is held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the convent chapel, next to the church.
