Darlene A. Markus

Darlene A. Markus, 72, of Cabot died Wednesday in Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Dec. 7, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Peter and Barbara Kypta Leicher.

She worked as a nurse's aide for St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars and also for the former Children's Rehabilitation in Penn Township.

She was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church in Glade Mills. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Joseph L. Markus of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. James (Donna) Elder of Saxonburg and Mrs. Alan (Cheryl) Kirkwood of Cabot; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Hunkele of Butler; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Markus, who died Aug. 17, 1986; a son, Robert G. "Tim" Markus, and three sisters.

DARLENE A. MARKUS - Friends of Darlene A. Markus, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 West Main St., Saxonburg. Services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
