Ruth Ann Sylvester

Ruth Ann Leonberg Conley Sylvester, 63, ofBeaver Falls died Friday in Sewickley Valley Hospital.

Born July 26, 1944, she was the daughter of Helen D. Fritz Leonberg and the late Harvey R. Leonberg.

She was a first grade teacher in the Big Beaver Falls School District for 33 years and a member of the NewBrighton Christian Assembly Church.

A graduate of Mars High School and valedictorian of her class, she also was a 1966 graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College.

She was associated for many years with the Mars Rainbow Girls Chapter, sponsor of the Beaver Falls Tigerettes, taught preschool at church and volunteered with the yearly Christmas play and summer festival. She and her husband spent a year mentoring teenagers through a literacy program.

She was an avid reader and a charter member of the Big Beaver FallsEducation Foundation.

Surviving are her husband of 22 years, John W. Sylvester of Beaver Falls; her mother of Mars; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Suzy Leonberg of Mars; four nieces and nephews, two stepchildren; four step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandson.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an aunt, Ruth Simmons.

<B>SYLVESTER </B>— Friends of Ruth Ann Leonberg Conley Sylvester, who died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the <B>CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME</B>, 14th St. and Eighth Avenue, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev.
