Verna Mae Kelley
Verna Mae Kelley, 91, of Sarver died Tuesday at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 18, 1917, in Centre County, she was the daughter of John and Sara Straw Smay.
A graduate of Winfield High School, she was a homemaker. She was the oldest member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, playing cards with her grandchildren and family picnics.
Surviving are her children, James (Ruth) Kelley of Sarver, Thomas Kelley of Sarver, Kenneth (Kathy) Kelley of Sarver, Albert Kelley of Sarver, Everett (Penny) Kelley of Worthington, Mrs. Wayne (Edith) Smock of Freeport, Mrs. Merlin "Dutch" (Grace) Grabe of Butler, Mrs. Clyde (Edna) Hemphill of Sarver, Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Kimmel of Pasadena, Md., Mrs. Douglas (Phyllis) Coury of Saxonburg, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Mangel of Butler, Bonnie Kelley of Sarver, Mrs. Jeffrey (Kathy) Campbell of Sarver; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois Bowersox of Tampa, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Everett Maurice Kelley, who died May 18, 2003; a brother; four sisters; and one son, Danny.
<B>KELLEY</B> — Friends of Verna Mae Kelley, who died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
