Dairy enthusiasts are invited to join the Butler County Holstein Club for an evening of fellowship at their annual twilight meeting July 28 at Marburger Farm Dairy in Evans City.

The evening's activities begin at 7 p.m. with dairy cattle judging. A tour of the dairy processing plant and light refreshments will follow.

If you grow grapes in southwestern Pennsylvania, have a winery, or are thinking about starting either, plan to attend the SW PA Wine Growers Twilight Meeting Aug. 4. The meeting will be held at Windgate Vineyards in Smicksburg, Pa.Hosts Dan and Cay Enerson will lead a tour of the vineyard for a discussion of the current growing season and its challenges. Penn State enologist Steve Menke will be on hand for a discussion of quality aspects of wine making.Participants are encouraged to bring a sample of their own hybrid red wine, dry to off-dry, for comparison tastings.Registration is required.
