Eppinger knocks 'em down

It has been a pretty good two weeks for Bobby Eppinger in the Butler City Tenpin League.

Last week, Eppinger rolled a 279 game en route to a 733 series.

Two weeks ago, Eppinger rolled his 12th career 300 game to join Brian Marcellus, Jeff Blank, Troy Strezeski and Bob Casey as the only bowlers to reach perfection this season.

Eppinger’s 300 game was sandwiched by games of 246 and 226, good for a 772 series.

Tip of the WeekAn important part of a smooth arm swing is the ball’s starting position in the approach. It’s vital to begin with the ball in line with your arm-swing shoulder. If you begin with the ball too far to the center of your body, chances are you will pull the shot inside of the intended target. Missing your target to the right might be the result of starting with the ball too far away from your body.

CorrectionIn my last column, I mentioned that Jeff Blank’s 832 is the fourth-highest triple recorded in the Butler County Bowling Association. Blank’s series is fifth. I failed to mention that Jeff Suchonic rolled the association’s second-highest series, a 852, during Casino League play at Sherwood Lanes.
