Peoples Natural Gas has extended the application deadline for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Applications are being accepted until April 30, as long as funds remain available.

For the 2020-21 winter heating season, the minimum LIHEAP grant is $200. The grant helps income-eligible utility customers with heating bills, whether they rent or own their home. Customers are encouraged to apply online through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Access to Social Service website at www.compass.state.pa.us.

To apply, the customer must provide the following information for all members of the household: name, birth date, Social Security number and proof of income. A copy of a recent heating bill also is required.
