SRU Timeline

Here are building projects at Slippery Rock University since 2000 and some of their costs:

2000• University Book Store renovation

2001• School of Physical Therapy, $6.5 million• Pearl K. Stoner Instructional Complex, major interior and exterior renovations• Pedestrian campus plan started. This continuing project includes a rock waterfall and other features in main student path.

2002• Jack Critchfield Park, nearly $1 million• Center for Community and Lifelong Learning, which converted the former Fowler Building in the borough that was used as a television studio• Morrow Field House renovations, including new seating, floor, track area, roof and windows• Old Main renovations included new welcome center for students

2003• The outside Leadership Reaction Course• N. Kerr Thompson Stadium renovations included new artificial field and lights• Eisenberg Classroom Building work included a new high-tech auditorium• North Hall work with offices and services added• McKay Education Building renovations included new furniture and carpet, office upgrades• West gym work included a dance studio renovation• Carruth Rizza Hall renovations include new language labs and updated classrooms, $2.5 million• Vincent Science Hall Planetarium equipment upgraded to include automation, added more comfortable chairs

2004 • New Science and Technology Building started, $14.5 million• Spotts World Culture Building Auditorium renovation• President's residence renovated

2005• New student residential halls started, $110 million• Vincent Science Hall is slated for $16 million renovation after new science center is completed• Storm Harbor Equestrian Center, $400,000.
