Lezzer Lumber
Lezzer Lumber, a leading retailer of name brand building materials in Pennsylvania, was founded in 1927 as the Sandri-Lezzer Lumber and Farm Machinery Co. in Curwensville.
In 1949, Michael H. Lezzer and his sons, Maurice and Kenneth, bought the lumber portion and called it the Lezzer Lumber Co.
It now operates under a third generation with the sons of Maurice and Kenneth Lezzer directing the activities. It has 10 retail locations throughout the state, including Butler and Grove City.
In 1971, a fire forced the company to relocate from its home office and warehouse to the current site at Schofield Street in Curwensville. It was then that the company evolved from a lumber yard into a full home center. Soon after, growth and expansion lead the way to store openings throughout the state.
In 2004, Lezzer Lumber opened a building materials center in Harrisburg and added Lezzer Truss Systems in York, enhancing the company's service to theHarrisburg, York and Lancaster areas, as well as to easternMaryland, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia.
The Lezzer Trust Systems expansion was done to handle the company's growing truss needs. By enrolling in the Truss Plant Institute quality control program, the company submits itself to an unannounced yearly inspection of random trusses.
Lezzer Lumber's interior door shop manufactures and stocks a variety of door styles in woods such as poplar, cherry, walnut, pine and oak. They also offer door jambs, moldings, trims and stair parts.
The installed framing division of the company installs complete framing packages, including exterior doors and windows, and offers professional installation. Lezzer Lumber prides itself on providing a professional advantage in quality service and installation on framing, siding, windows, insulation, exterior/interior doors, cabinets, countertops and decks.
Lezzer Lumber also works closely with contractors to help keep costs down and projects moving forward. Its crew of professionals assists in the design phase to set-up projects, provides information about new products and meetings with suppliers, and evaluates a contractor's businesses to increase productivity and reduce problems. They also help coordinate deliveries.
With a fleet of more than 70 trucks, Lezzer Lumber is prepared to handle all aspects of a customer's delivery needs. With 10 locations and diverse delivery capabilities, Lezzer Lumber can provide material to a job site quickly and efficiently.
The company installs insulation, using Nu-Wool WALLSEAL, a product made from recycled newspapers that provides energy bill savings of up to 40 percent. Rather than being placed into wall cavities, WALLSEAL bonds to the inside studs and sheathing after being sprayed on by a Lezzerinsulation specialist.
Lezzer Lumber also offers kitchen and bath supplies such as faucets, bath fixtures, sinks, countertops and cabinets.
