Jaolyn Rae Fockler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Fockler of Chicora, pulls herself up to peak into her new toy chest on Christmas Day, 1969. Her mother says Jaolyn enjoys climbing in and out of her new wooden companion. Perhaps that's also where the doll under her little foot and that big stuffed horse will find a home. Jaolyn was the first baby of 1969 in the Butler Eagle Stork Derby, a contest that lives on. In 2007, the first baby born at Butler Memorial Hospital or to a Butler Eagle subscriber will win prizes from participating businesses and will be featured in an upcoming edition.
