Butler students win 2 pageants
BUTLER TWP — Two Butler School District students were crowned during a recent pageant held at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.
Emma Anthony, 8, daughter of Don and Amy Anthony was named Little Miss Butler County/America 2007.
The title of Junior Miss Butler County/America 2007 went to Lyric Ackelson, 12, daughter of Mike and Beth Ackelson.
Also honored in the Little Miss pageant were Caroline Holt, 10, first runner-up; Clare Stevenson, 10, second runner-up; and Emily Ekas, 10, third runner-up.In the Junior Miss pageant, first runner-up was Courtney Schwartz, 13; second runner-up was Kendal Clouse, 13; and third runner-up was Eden Gade, 13.Asecond grade student at Connoquenessing Elementary School, Anthony performed a jazz/acro dance to "Someday My Prince Will Come."Ackelson, a seventh grade student at Butler Junior High School gave a vocal performance of "Don't Rain on My Parade."
