Bowlers roll up funds for Kids' Sake

The 13th annual Bowl For Kids' Sake event raised $45,000 for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County, a program of the Butler County Family YMCA.

More than 350 bowlers, volunteers, Bigs and Littles in the program and spectators attended the April 15 event at the Family Bowlaway in Lyndora.

Top fundraising honors went to the Sky Bank team which raised $3,063. The top individual fundraisers were Nancy Davis, Sky Bank, who raised $1,164; Tim Wegaman, Sky Bank, who raised $722.50; and Renee Cratty of NexTier Bank who raised $650.

The event was sponsored by 74 individuals and businesses from the county who contributed $20,500. All proceeds are used to provide adult mentors for at-risk youth in the county.

The Y is conducting its 2007 Strong Kids Annual Giving Campaign though June 1. Donations may be sent to the Butler County Family YMCA, Attn.: Strong Kids Campaign, 339 N. Washington St., Butler, PA 16001.
