FRANKLIN TWP — The 2007 Butler County Dairy Princess Pageant will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old Route 422. A light reception will follow.

CHERRY TWP — The North Trails Public Library, 1553 West Sunbury Road, will host a book and cookie sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.A lunch of hot dogs, potato chips and a drink will be available for $1.50.For details, call 724-283-2279.

PENN TWP — The Penn State Master Gardeners of Butler County will host a spring garden market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Succop Conservancy, Airport Road.The market will feature free workshops on organic gardening and native plants, a plant and garden item sale and garden tours. NexTier Bank's Junior Bank Board is accepting registration for its first 5K Run Saturday at Alameda Park.The Butler County United Way is the beneficiary of this event. Registration is at 8 a.m., and the race will begin at 9 a.m.The 3.1-mile run begins and ends at the Carousel Shelter and is a paved course.Entry fee is $18. CABOT — Cooper Cabin Pioneer Homestead will host its annual Native American Weekend from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.The event will include Native American dancing, chanting and regalia.
