BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Lee Westwood made a 4-foot par putt on the 18th hole to beat Kenny Perry 1-up and ensure Europe's Ryder Cup win over the United States Sunday.

The final margin, 18½-9½ was the United States' biggest loss in 77 years of Ryder Cup play. Europe won for the fourth time in five matches.

Tiger Woods didn't lose a hole in an easy 3 and 2 victory over Paul Casey, but the Europeans won 7 of the 12 singles matches and halved another.

LOUDON, N.H. - Kurt Busch dominated Sunday's NASCAR Nextel Cup race, completing a sweep of the 2004 events at New Hampshire International Speedway and coming away tied with Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the lead after the first race of the new 10-man, 10-race championship showdown.Busch was just as strong late in the July race here when he won easily, solidifying his spot in the top 10 in the same No. 97 Roush Racing Ford that he drove on Sunday. The win was the third of the season and 11th of his career for Busch, who began the day seventh in the points standings.Matt Kenseth, the 2003 series champion, was second, crossing the finish line 2.488-seconds - about 20 car lengths - behind his Roush Racing teammate.
