Grove City College junior Elisa Pedersen and sophomore Bob McNees have been named President's Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner and Men's Soccer Player of the Week, respectively.

Pedersen placed third out of 88 runners at the Malone (Ohio) Invitational last week, running a time of 19:35.7.

McNees had three goals and an assist in Grove City soccer wins of 3-0 over Bethany and Lake Erie.

Butler graduate Rick Schontz was selected as Baldwin-Wallace College Defensive Player of the Week in the Yellowjackets' 31-3 football win over Ohio Northern.A senior defensive end, Schontz had a quarterback sack, forced a fumble and had three quarterback hurries. B-W is 2-0 on the season.

Butler High School graduate and Penn-State Behrend men's soccer goalie Matt Zimsak posted two shutouts last week for the Lions.The performance earned Zimsak Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference player of the week honors.
