FNB to close borough branch
HARRISVILLE — First National Bank will soon leave the borough without a bank, according to a letter sent to its customers.
The company will close its downtown location at 124 S. Main St. on May 11.
“Based on an ongoing evaluation process that helps us maintain an efficient and effective service network, we have decided to combine the Harrisville office at 124 S. Main St. in Harrisville, PA, with our Pine Grove Office at 200 Pine Grove Square in Grove City, PA, located in the County Market Plaza and directly across from the Sheetz Gas Station,” Tamara Welker, the company's market manager, wrote in the letter.
All accounts will be automatically transferred to the Grove City location, with the exception of safety deposit boxes, which customers will have to move by 5 p.m. May 4.
Customers moving boxes will be accommodated at any other location that offers the service and will receive one-year free for a box rental of the same size.
The ATM at the Harrisville office will remain usable for an unspecified amount of time, but bank visits would have to be done at any other First National Bank location.
Welker said the Grove City location should serve the needs of their Harrisville customers. Grove City is the closest First National Bank location, about five miles away.
“We hope you will enjoy the newer facilities and extended branch hours, with the addition of Saturday hours,” Welker said.
Meghan Cole, the bank's assistant vice president and media and public relations manager, said the bank has operated the Harrisville location since 2004.
“We look forward to serving our customers through our nearby locations and through the various channels we noted in the letter,” Cole said.
