Slippery Rock University track and field athlete Preston Gibbs earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Gibbs' career-best triple jump of 47 feet, 3½ inches at the University of Akron Open Feb. 4 put him in the national event.

That effort also set an Akron Athletics Field House record and was the longest leap by a PSAC competitor this year.

Justin McCandless scored 15 points, but the Portersville Christian School boys basketball team fell to Wilson Christian Academy 37-32 Thursday night.Aaron Kniess added eight points for Portersville, which scored only eight points in the second half after leading 24-14 at the break.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference will use instant replay on an experimental basis during league games for the 2005 season. University presidents and chancellors approved the change Thursday, a day after athletic directors voted for it.Details of the league's instant replay plan will be decided at the SEC spring meetings, held May 31-June 3 in Destin, Fla.
