NEW YORK — The Alabama Crimson Tide jumped into The Associated Press poll at No. 16, the first time in the rankings for the program since the final poll of the 2005 season.At the top of the poll, No. 1 Southern California recouped some of the first-place votes it lost to No. 2 LSU in the previous two weeks.USC received 46 first-place votes, up six from last week, and 1,605 points after a 49-31 victory at Nebraska that was not as close as the final score.The Tigers continued to impress with a 44-0 victory over Middle Tennessee, their second shutout of the season. NUSA DUA, Indonesia — Lindsay Davenport won her first singles title after almost a year's absence from the tour, defeating Daniela Hantuchova 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to capture the Bali Open.Davenport was playing her first singles tournament since having a baby in June. And the 31-year-old Californian eliminated some strong opponents en route to this title.
