Heitzer

William E. Heitzer, 69, of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away June 29.

He was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Butler, son of the late Clarence and Dorothy Heasley Heitzer.

He was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1028 and loved to sing Karaoke.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who taught his children and grandchildren to respect the outdoors.

He was a loving husband, father, pap, brother and dear friend to all.

He proudly honored his country in the U.S. Navy.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Rita D.; two daughters, Nicole Brand and her husband, Scott, and Kimberlee Curfman and her husband, Joseph; his son, William E. Heitzer II and his wife, Kelley; and nine grandchildren, Rachael, Cody, Sarah, Matthew, Hannah, Katelyn, Cody, Courtney and Abigail. He also is survived by his sisters, Donna Sing, Judy Grenet, and Wanda Cranmer and her husband, Butch; his brother, Raymond Heitzer and his wife, Doreen; a sister-in-law, Donna Heitzer; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Heitzer.
