EAST BUTLER — The East Butler 9- and 10-year old All-Star team defeated Franklin 9-3 in Little League District 25 playoff action on Monday at Speed-O Field.
With the win, East Butler will await the winner of the Franklin-Clarion game, which will be played Wednesday, then host the game at 6 p.m. Friday.
David Matson doubled while teammates Brandon Wright, Hunter Scott, Hugh O'Neil, Jake Hilliard and Hunter Schaffner each singled for East Butler.
SLIPPERY ROCK — Andrew Waryanka, a sophomore point guard from Slippery Rock High, recently won best point guard as well as all-star honors at the Keystone State Invitational Basketball Camp, which was held at Slippery Rock University.
