INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts are parting ways with Marvin Harrison.Harrison's agent, Tom Condon, told The Associated Press that Indianapolis has agreed to release the franchise's all-time leading receiver. An official announcement is expected today or Wednesday. The decision comes one day after team president Bill Polian said he hoped to work out a deal that would keep Harrison in Indy, but when Harrison refused to accept a pay cut, he asked for and was granted his release. It was not a surprise given that Harrison's salary cap charge this season would have been $13.4 million, the highest of any receiver in the league. The 36-year-old Harrison ranks second in league history with 1,102 receptions — trailing only Jerry Rice — and caught 112 of his 128 career touchdowns from Peyton Manning, making them the top receiver-quarterback tandem in league history.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University guard Amanda Nero was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Player of the Week.Nero averaged 26.5 points in 29 minutes per game in wins over LockHaven and Clarion. She shot 65.5 percent from the field and shot 71.4 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.Her 38 points against Lock Haven were a career high.

SAN FRANCISCO — Barry Bonds' personal trainer was ordered to appear before a federal judge and say whether he'll break his silence and testify at the slugger's trial.U.S. District Judge Susan Illston summoned Greg Anderson for the unusual hearing, scheduled for Wednesday.Anderson is considered a vital witness for the government as it tries to prove Bonds lied to a grand jury investigating steroid use by athletes. Prosecutors said the trainer can directly link Bonds to three positive drug tests and other evidence collected during a September 2003 raid at the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative, which was at the center of the steroids probe. The judge has barred prosecutors from showing the jury the test results because Anderson is refusing to testify. Anderson is alleged to have collected the urine samples for drug testing at the lab. Without his testimony confirming the collection, Illston has said there is no way to prove the samples belong to Bonds.
