HARRISBURG The birthplace of NFL Films and the hometown of college football coach John Heisman will be a lot easier to find for visitors.

They are among 21 historical markers announced Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

NFL Films has documented the history of the league since 1962. It started in Philadelphia and is now in the suburb of Mount Laurel, N.J.

Heisman, for whom college football's Heisman Trophy is named, grew up in Titusville.

Historical markers appear on signs that dot roads and streets, highlighting bits of state history. There are about 2,200 markers statewide, and all sites are nominated by the public.

PITTSBURGH Slippery Rock residents Mitchel Grossman and Patrick Snyder, both 12-year-old black belts, placed at the 37th annual Pittsburgh Karate Championships recently.Grossman was third in forms, second in sparring and second in chambara. Snyder was fourth in forms, third in sparring and third in chambara.
