DICK'S Sporting Goods recently donated cots and blankets to Allegheny Health Network, as well as fanny packs for caregivers, in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The health network has been operating under its pandemic response plan since early February in preparation for a potential surge of sick patients, according a news release.

“We're sincerely grateful for this thoughtful donation from DICK'S. The fully-stocked fanny packs will help keep PPE close to our employees at all times for when they need it,” said Allie Quick, the health network's chief philanthropy officer.

The fanny packs are filled with hand sanitizer.

Harrisburg-based Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union announced Monday that it will provide a $25,000 donation to Feeding Pennsylvania, a statewide food bank that provides free meals. The state's food bank has faced increased demand, according to the announcement, as unemployment skyrockets over coronavirus precautions that have left many people without a paycheck.Of the credit union's $25,00 total donation, $10,000 will be earmarked for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the remaining $15,000 will be disbursed by Feeding Pennsylvania to its eight additional food bank partners, including the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
