Patrick L. 'Corky' Connelly Jr.

Patrick L. "Corky" Connelly Jr., 76, of Cranberry Township died Thursday at his home.

Born Aug. 17, 1928, in McKeesport, he was the son of Patrick L. Sr. and Anna Lee Connelly.

He was a 1946 graduate of Midland High School, where he lettered in all sports. He also played quarterback at Ohio University and Youngstown State.

Mr. Connelly was a Marine Corps veteran and retired from the Salem Furnace Co., Carnegie, as a cost analyst. Following retirement, he was a ticket taker for the Pirates and Steelers.

He was a founder of the Seneca Valley Midget Football League and coached the Cranberry Eagles for years. He also managed the Cranberry American Legion Baseball Team.

He was a member of St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, Cranberry Township.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Connelly, whom he married Dec. 20, 1979; a daughter, Kathryn Suhoskey and her husband, Jan, of Sewell, N.J.; a son, Patrick L. Connelly III and his wife, Terry, of Mars; a stepdaughter, Karen Wenzel and her husband, Rick, of Zelienople; a stepson, David Lotz of Cranberry Township; and nine grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Isabelle Kelly of Whitehall, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Morrow and Mary Ann Huston, and a brother, Robert "Pat" Connelly.

CONNELLY - Friends of Patrick L. "Corky" Connelly, who died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev.
