Maridon Museum, 322 N. McKean St., hosts Japanese brush painting (Sumie) classes with Laurie Bloomberg of Slippery Rock who learned Sumie painting while living in Japan. In this series of five classes, students will learn how to use the ink stick and slate stone to achieve black and gray tones and how to apply brush strokes to achieve paintings of bamboo, wild orchids in grass, mums, pine trees and tulips.
